ON THE ROAD AGAIN
After a 15-year break to concentrate on writing and broadcasting, fly fishing and family, Mike’s soon to begin his third tour in little more than a year. ME, A GUITAR AND SOME DAFT STUFF is the snappy title he dreamed up for the show, with the content draw from a back-catalogue of 40 years of material.
In his own words:
“I don’t know why I stopped touring really, it just seems that other things took over. I’d started going to the Himalayas for long periods of time trekking and climbing and then seemed to get caught up in writing books about my travels. Writing became a huge part of my life as I moved on to write books on church architecture and other subjects. The guitar and the stories just took a back seat.”
The first set of images were taken by Brian Ledgard to promote Mike’s return to the stage; the second batch are from his performance at Nottingham Playhouse November 2011 and should be credited to “Nick Elliott, rock photographer.
